February 22, 2025 Update

Senior Pastor Search

Coram Deo is seeking a gospel-centered leader to shepherd our church into its next chapter of growth and mission. If you are a Pastor sensing a new call, we invite you to prayerfully read through our Senior Pastor Packet and consider applying.

We are praying for you and hope you will pray for us as we distribute this packet to represent our church and seek out a new Senior Pastor. We walk in faith and grace, knowing God will provide the right candidate for us.

Announcing Our Pastoral Search Committee

The following 11 members of Coram Deo were nominated and elected to lead the church in identifying the next senior pastor:

We have been meeting regularly to discuss, plan, and pray for our church and our next pastor. We invite everyone to join us in prayer and have created a Pastoral Search Prayer Guide to help you lift this important season before the Lord.

November 17, 2025 Update

Pastoral Search Committee

As Coram Deo Church enters a new season, we are forming a Pastoral Search Committee (PSC) to lead the church in identifying the next senior pastor. This is an important moment in the life of our church, and our desire is to approach it with prayer, unity, and confidence in God’s faithful leading.

Purpose of the PSC

The PSC is responsible for:

  • Leading a careful, prayerful search process

  • Gathering congregational input

  • Evaluating potential candidates

  • Working closely with the Session for theological and pastoral alignment

  • Recommending a candidate to the congregation

This team will serve on behalf of the members of Coram Deo to ensure we move forward wisely and faithfully.

Composition of the Committee

The PSC will consist of 9–11 members, determined by the number of qualified nominees. Members must:

  • Be members in good standing at Coram Deo

  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity, emotional health, and unity

  • Be able to commit time, energy, and prayer to the process

  • Not be married to another PSC member (no couples allowed)

Committee Structure

To ensure a balanced and representative team, the PSC will include:

  • 2 Ruling Elders: Josh Cook & Scott Willingham

  • Ideally 1 Deacon

  • 1 Staff Member

  • 5–7 Lay Leaders elected by the congregation

If fewer than two deacons or staff members are available to serve, the Session may appoint from those groups to ensure representation.

Representation of Women

We value having strong female voices in our process.
The PSC will include at least three women, and potentially four or five if the committee expands to eleven members and enough qualified women are nominated.

Nomination Process

Nominations are open from November 16 through December 3.
Any Coram Deo member in good standing may nominate another member to serve. Nominees should reflect:

  • Wisdom and discernment

  • Spiritual and emotional maturity

  • A commitment to unity and the mission of the church

  • The ability to work well on a team

  • Strong communication skills

  • A prayerful posture

After nominations close, nominees will be contacted for willingness to serve. The final slate will be presented to the congregation for election.
